Your 14th generation Sim grew up in a strict military household. Always be on your best behavior, stand up straight, get good grades and always be polite. However, they've heard stories. Their parent wasn't always that perfect themselves. As a matter of fact, they got to where they are by beating some mysterious monster. This story is never told at home but your Sim knows enough. They NEED to know more. As they explore the town and ask around they cross paths with someone else who is interested in magical encounters in Strangerville: a sage. After this first encounter they feel an itch that needs to scratched: they want to become a spellcaster no matter the costs. This was meant to be, this was their destiny.
